The Fault in our Stars by John Green
I've never read a John Green book and heard that this was a must read book. I went and brought it as I had heard a lot about it and wanted to know for myself.
Blurb
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has brought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis.
But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Walters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

My View
I've heard a lot about this book before buying and kind of what the story was based upon. I happened to be strolling into town and walking into waterstones, I saw it on display. After spending a short period of time deciding whether to buy it, I had walked over to the till and had done just that.
After a few chapters, I was hooked. I'll never review a book that I couldn't get into or I found boring. This book made me laugh in places as well as cry. (I really really sobbed)
I love the characters in this book, the fact that they have cancer or loss of sight or limps and it doesn't stop them doing things, like flying to Amsterdam to see an author of a book Hazel likes. I love the determination of Hazel, she knows what she wants and she goes for it. She wants more of a story she's reading and wants to know what happens next, so she does just that. When Hazel meets Gus you can see that there is chemistry there from the start. Gus and Hazel are made for each other even though they have life threatening illnesses. Even though they don't have enough time to do things most teenagers or young people do when they start dating, they make the most of what they have. I love the message behind this book and I love that the characters don't let things stop them. I think this is a message that we could all learn from in life.
Definitely a must read for and make sure you have tissues handy!
